Installation day — Phase IX of the Vanessa Empire Interiors design process, everything placed and styled

Nine phases ago this was a conversation about how you live. Then it was a program, then black and white plans, then drawings, materials, a reveal, a Handbook, a warehouse quietly filling with inspected treasures, and months of construction built precisely to the vision. Everything has led here — the day the house becomes the home.

One Day, The Full Vision

Once construction is complete and everything has arrived, we bring the full vision to life at once. We coordinate with our receiving warehouse to schedule delivery, work from our floor plans for precise placement, and handle every detail — from where the sofa sits in relation to the cocktail table, to the organic finessing that makes a space feel complete.

The floor plans matter even now. Placement on installation day is not improvised; it was decided months ago, drawn to the inch, and today it is simply honored — and then finessed by eye, because paper plans a room and presence perfects it.

Then Everything Is Styled

Furniture makes a room functional. Styling makes it yours — and we treat it as the craft it is. Art is hung at the right height and scaled to the wall it belongs to. Shelving in the public rooms is composed rather than filled — books, objects, and the pieces you have collected, arranged with the same care we gave the floor plan. Accessories are placed room by room.

Because a house is not finished when the furniture arrives; it is finished when the last object is in the right place. (We wrote a whole meditation on that difference in What Makes a Home Feel Finished? — installation day is where it comes true.)

The Celebration

Once every object has found its place, we deliver your client gift and your Care & Maintenance Binder — a comprehensive guide to every product, finish, and material in your home: what it is, where it came from, and how to keep it beautiful for decades. The house arrives with its own owner's manual, because a home this considered deserves to be kept that way.

In many cases, we arrange a time for our photographer and stylist to capture the finished project for our portfolio — coordinated with you well in advance, always on your terms. Many of our favorite Broomfield and Boulder projects live in our portfolio precisely because their owners wanted their home's story told.

And then we hand you the keys to your own house — transformed. Spoiler alert: we will probably be just as excited as you are.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens on installation day?

Everything arrives from our warehouse at once — placed from the floor plans, adjusted by eye, then styled to completion: art hung, shelves composed, accessories placed, down to the last object.

How long does installation take?

Typically one to several days depending on the home's size. You walk into a finished home, not a work in progress.

What is a Care & Maintenance Binder?

Your home's owner's manual: every product, finish, and material documented, with care guidance — so what we built beautiful stays beautiful.

Do you photograph every project?

Only with your enthusiasm and on your schedule, planned well in advance. Privacy is always yours to keep.
